Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the T-Account Builder Microsoft Excel add-in or the taccountbuilder.com website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

T-Account Builder reads general ledger and journal entry data you provide and renders it as T-account visualizations, either inside Microsoft Excel (via the add-in) or as a browser preview and downloadable Excel file (via taccountbuilder.com). The Service is a data visualization and formatting tool only.

2. No Accounting, Tax, or Legal Advice

T-Account Builder does not provide accounting, audit, tax, financial, or legal advice, and nothing produced by the Service should be treated as such. The Service simply reformats the data you upload — it does not verify, audit, or validate the accuracy, completeness, or correctness of that data or of the resulting T-accounts. You are solely responsible for reviewing all output and for any decision, filing, report, or conclusion made in reliance on it. Always consult a qualified accountant or other professional before making decisions based on financial data.

3. Your Responsibility for Data Accuracy

The T-accounts generated by the Service are only as accurate as the data you upload and the column mappings you confirm. We are not responsible for errors caused by incorrect source data, incorrect column mapping, or misuse of the Service.

4. Data Handling

Your uploaded spreadsheet data is processed only to generate your T-account output and is never stored, logged, or retained by us. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. Payments and Downloads

Downloadable Excel files on taccountbuilder.com are sold in bundles of 12 downloads for a one-time fee, processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Purchased download credits do not expire but are non-transferable between browsers or devices. All sales are final; purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSES.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, T-ACCOUNT BUILDER AND ITS OWNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON ITS OUTPUT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
